  1. 1 Browse Curated & Free Classics: On the Home tab, explore pre-built vocabulary decks ready to study immediately.
  2. 2 Search the Global Catalog: Tap the + (Add Book) button in the navigation bar. Type any book title or author to search through millions of published editions.
  3. 3 One-Tap Add: When your edition appears in search results, tap Add Book to link its vocabulary deck to your personal reading shelf.
  4. 4 Manual Request with ISBN: If a specific translation or obscure edition is not in the instant library, tap Request Manually. Enter the Title, Author, and ISBN. Our automated system analyzes the full text and prepares your custom vocabulary deck.

Each book's text is analyzed to identify the rarest, most sophisticated, and setting-specific terms that readers typically pause to look up in a dictionary, filtering out common conversational vocabulary.
Why did the camera scanner miss a word on my printed page?
On-device OCR works best when the printed page is flat, evenly illuminated, and parallel to your phone's lens. If your page has curved margins near the spine, harsh shadows, or angled glare, some characters might not register cleanly. Smooth the page gently, hold your phone directly overhead, and ensure good lighting. If a word is missing from the list, you can search for it directly in the deck's search bar.
How do custom book requests work?
If a title you plan to read isn't currently in our pre-indexed catalog, tap the + button, search, or choose Request Manually. Enter the book title, author, and preferably the 10- or 13-digit ISBN. Our system creates your custom vocabulary deck in chapter sequence alongside contextual definitions, setting illustrations, and mnemonics. Pro subscribers get up to 4 custom requests per month with prioritized processing.
How do I study words in chronological reading order?
Open any book deck, tap the ☰ Menu icon in the top right, and ensure Book Order is checked under the Sort section. This arranges the cards in the exact order the words appear from chapter 1 through to the final page. Reviewing the first 50 words before starting your chapter ensures you never stumble over vocabulary while reading.
Can I listen to audio pronunciations offline?
Yes! Word pronunciations are generated directly on your device, meaning you can listen to pronunciations offline without needing an active cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
How do I restore my purchases on a new device?
If you upgrade your iPhone or reinstall the app, open the Account or Subscriptions screen, tap Restore in the top toolbar, and sign in with the Apple ID used to make your original purchase. Your Pro access will be restored immediately.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
All subscriptions are billed securely through Apple and can be managed anytime in iOS Settings:
  1. Open your iOS device's Settings app.
  2. Tap your Apple ID profile name at the very top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select Books & Vocab and choose Cancel Subscription.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account and associated data directly inside the app at any time:
  1. Open the app and tap the top-right profile icon to open Account Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Delete Account section and tap the button.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm.

This permanently removes your profile, requested book history, and saved vocabulary data. Note: App Store subscriptions are billed separately by Apple and should be cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
